Looking ahead,...

... as far as the future is in my gift (i.e. not at all!) I am having a short break next week and Rev Fiona Lillie of St John's-Renfield will be available.

This Sunday's service is at 11 am as is the following week's with its prayers for healing and wholeness.

Looking forward also to the Charity Night in aid of Lansdowne Church at Glasgow's Grand Ole Oprey on Sunday 21st October from 7.30 p.m. Tickets £5.00 or pay at the door. Thanks in advance to George and Mal, their Telecasters and all who have helped organise this...

Before I go and face the day ...

... a daft thought. I was reading the Yelp reviews by people who have been in Lansdowne Church and find myself wondering. If they like it so much in the state it is in, how much more could we all be making of the place?

These reviews, and most welcome and encouragingly positive they are, they reinforce the 'disused Lansdowne' misunderstanding. See blog rant elsewhere!

Four Acres Charitable Trust is alive and well too... as are its plans for Lansdowne.

Open, open, open, open...

Did I mention that Lansdowne Church is open?

Lectionaries, and all that ...

Hmmm... all my ministerial life I've been a lectionary preacher: 2 year, 3 year etc cycles, as found in Books of Common Order 1979 and 1994, the Books of Services of the United Reformed Church and publications such as Partners in Learning, Roots and Spill The Beans.

Is it time for a change? Are the people of Lansdowne Church getting a balanced homiletic diet? Am I?

Does the Christian year, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and all that, cut the mustard these days of changed work patterns and lifestyles?

What to do? How to do it?

Here I go, off on one again ...

... I'd be grateful if our extended network of Lansdowne Church's members, pals, hall-users, etc etc etc would be so good as to talk the place up and to remind other pals, users, interested parties and members of the public,  that the dear old place is open, as in, used, in business, operating and still here.

Scruffy? Yes ...
Needing lots of work? Yes ...
Looking forward to renovation and renewal works beginning? Yes!
Closed - No.
Disused - No.

New members, pals, hall-users, etc all welcome? Yes!
Open for worship. Open for business. Open.
Roy's Blog-rant is over. Am feeling composed now. Thank you.

Off we go ...

Off to lead worship today, and unusually posting on this blog before I go. So, as we prepare for communion, 'What is it discern or not discern the body of Christ?'
